Soul Alchemist Interview
Tell us about your artist journey so far?
I started playing in Brazil at our label’s private parties, I then had a job opportunity that made me travel abroad. During these trips I played in Malaysia, where Matthias Meyer and Hunter Game played. I’ve also played in the Philippines and China as resident from downtown ! I then came back to Brazil and worked on my productions which led me to moving to Los Angeles where I am currently finishing two EPs.
How are you finding the transition of life in Los Angeles compared to Brazil?
Life in Brazil is really hard at the moment, the country is not in a good place unfortunately, moving to L.A. was a gift! My dad told me I had to study, I now study and produce for a living.
Can we expect to see you playing out soon?
I’m settled in the studio for now since I just moved to LA, I don’t know what to expect regarding gigs, but I’m working really hard on both EPs that I have and I am hoping they will to open up new horizons
What are your top three electronic music venues?
To play at Afterlife would be my dream. I could play along Tale of Us, Recondite and Stephen Bodzin. My three favourite events are Ultra, ADE and Afterlife.
You’re working on an EP? Could you tell us a bit about that?
The first one is really dark. It includes dark basses and some sort of melodies. The second one I put a lot of feelings and emotions into it! A lot of people used the term “melancholy melodies” to define it.
Which artists do you currently admire and look up to in terms of influences for you in the dance music industry?
My influences right now are Erly Tepshi, Stephan Bodzin and Recondite
With who would you like to play a back-to-back set with and where?
I think that me and BLANC at Afterlife would be a sick back-to-back!
What labels are you currently aiming for in 2018?
I’m aiming for; Steyoyoke, Parquet Recordings, Three Hands Records and Us and Them Records
We love the deep and dark vibe from you, will you be focusing on that kind of sound in the future?
Sure thing! Deep and dark songs are my thing.
